Not the religious part, but the commercial part. It's all about "stuff". It makes me want to vomit. The only only I ever really do anything for is my mother and husband. I'm not doing even that this year. They have done nothing but SH!$@ on me and I always do thoughtful things at Christmas. Not anymore. I'm done. I don't even really want to go over to their house. All they do is put me down and make me feel bad about my diabetes and weight problem. They make me want to vomit even more than the whole Christmas crap.

I agree about the commercialization of Christmas. I can't stand it. I'm sorry your family is treating you so terribly - it's not fair. It's never okay. I hope you find solace - with or without your families involvement. It's YOU who matters right now. Take care of yourself. ((((hugs))))

Gawd, I woke up yesterday feeling very melancholic and sunken. Xmas brings out a sense of sadness and futility and isolation from family and friends. I'm not sure why. I work to avoid excess commercialization and I have a kid, so it takes some effort.

I'm sorry about your family, and I hear you about making an effort. Family stuff seems more disappointing than eve at this time of year. I hope you find some light at solstice time.

I'm sorry to hear. I agree Christmas gets lost in all the stuff everyone is scrambling to find. I am working on some homemade presents the next two days, just hoping for a depression-free day so I can actually finish them.

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
