Calling all insomniacs

Was wondering if the bipolar insomniacs would share with me what med/s help with your insomnia. I take lamictal, neurontin, klonopin in am afternoon and pm at the moment. None of which ever have a sedating affect for me. I've been having alot of trouble falling asleep and staying asleep.

I ain't really got no meds to help ya out with, but I will talk to ya. Sorry you can't sleep. Sleep is overrated anyways lol.

Ambien CR and 1mg Klonopin at night works for me.

Yeah, seroquel does that. But maybe you can have an emergency dosage? I keep it on the side just in case.

im on lamictal, seroquel, valium, ativan, kolonpin.

kolonpin makes me sleep, but i feel too weird in the morning, dont take it. ativan sucks.

i like valium if i take enough i'll get to sleep eventually. only take it when i need it for my fucked up nerves.

I was going to put a bug in the pdocs ear about ambien. Not for everynight but for these nights I've been having lately. I'm really hoping he agrees.

Benzo's don't make me sleepy, just takes the edge off the anxiety. Have taken klonopin for over ten years now.

Zany I think I gained about the same a few years ago when I was given seroquel. Then we struggle with depression over the weight gain...yes a big sigh for that one!

My pdoc told me to take my lithium double dose in the evenings instead of the mornings since it was making me turn into a zombie during the day, and now I sleep 10-12 hours and wake up very groggy. I know this doesnt help, but maybe you should talk to your doc about this!!!!!!!

a Xanax will have me sleep for acouple hours. I'm going to try the natural supplement melatonin after I speak with pharmacist about it.

I take Lamictal and about 300mg of Trazadone. Works pretty well for the most part unless I am doing what I have been doing today which is chasing the crazy racing thoughts in my head

Those crazy racing thoughts are hell. Sorry you are having to go through that hon. It'll get better. Ya just have to wait long enough. If I don't like my mood, I can hang around a while and it will probably change. lol

Seroquel is good at inducing sleep.

But you know what else it's good for? It's absolutely bloody fantastic at packing on the kilos! Just ask my butt.
