Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
damn!
and the more i seek help the more it seems that i get turned away like a nuisance or a person looking for attention or the "fashion" mental illness label. i just want to live as well as i can :/ x
and apple, if you're already diagnosed then you'll be fine x
mush do you cut? I wory they have decided you have borderline personaility and there is such negativity about it and treatment that some people don't want to know
look on the net to see if you can find a shrink that deals with adolescence... they are the kind of people you need to be talking to
it's plainly obvious that my mood shifts are ridiculous and i don't really match the borderline symptoms
although i am 18, im still too old to see an adolescent doctor, and the adult doctors have such a high threshold for mental illness unless you are talking to the walls you're not really seen as a problem :/
im really glad that you've had a lot of support though x
the drugs thing is irrelevent im sick to the back teeth of it being used as a scapegoat.
i swear to god everyone thinks im a junkie injecting heroin every 10 minutes 8-)
lol
and if i went private perhaps but that would be hundreds.
:/
perhaps i should just go to the USA. they seem to care about mental health because they're getting money for it. x

When I go looking for information on Bipolar-related on the Internet, I notice that some of the best stuff comes from the UK.
Yet, some of the personal stories I hear (yours is the worst, so far), flummox me.
One person saw a psychiatrist, was diagnosed and treated, but from that point on, only goes to a regular doctor for maintenance. I believe that in that case, a psychiatrist could only be seen once every two years.
That sure doesn't sound like a good way to manage a mental illness.
Are there any Bipolar support groups in your area? Maybe 'networking' is a possible way to finally find a good doctor.
Yes. I agree that the chances of you ending up dead by one means or another are way higher than they are for 'normal' people your age.
I am sorry -- and outraged! -- that you are being refused desperately needed medical care. ((((((((((Hugs))))))))))
