I don't have full mania I think my episodes are classed as hypomanic but I don't think I'm alone with these feelings.
I've been depressed for a about a week and I also suffer from an eating disorder. But earlier I had a bit of a 'high' moment and suddenly I was able to fight anything. I could overcome this illness and was ready to take on the world. I confessed a couple of Eating Disorder behaviours I had been acting out on straight out to my Mum.
Now though, that 'high' has passed and I'm just filled with deep regret. I feel so stupid! I've completely blown everything!
I'm such an idiot. I keep doing this sort of thing. I'm really down and not doing well and then suddenly I get this 'rush' and I declare war on my depression to everyone saying I'm fighting it and prepared to work my ass off. Then maybe an hour later, the depression kicks in and I just feel a complete failure.

It was difficult on my wife and just about crushed my daughter. I feel like a major idiot as well. So it's not just you.
I think our loved ones know what we deal with. We are harder on ourselves than anyone else. Hang in there.
