Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I allow myself the thoughts for a short time and then I have to move away from them.... They don't help me and I find that they can keep me down
I do work hard on making better choices now and working 'with' bipolar and not 'against' it meaning acceptance
Big hug sweetie.....xo
The thing I did right was accept that I had a responsibility to do the best I could to mitigate my damages, so with my children, we had very open lines of communication and there were no secrets. Every time I was in-patient, grammy would bring them afterschool to do homework and hang out and on weekends, we never let it be something that seperated our family. This helped them develop very strong characters, and become caring, compassionate, loving strong men that I am so proud of.
My 28 yr. old is in the Army Natl. Guard and a FireFighter/EMS, my 18 yr. old is getting ready for college and a career in the North Carolina Department of Fish and Wildlife afterwards. They both developed a love of community and helping others. We still have discussions of some of the harder times, it helps to know they understand and didn't think mom was just crazy.
Take Care,
I know what you mean. I just try to focus on how far I've come
