Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I could no longer deal affectively and politely with the Public
I can socialise with others no bother, but working with others is another story altogether.
Working though, I always had issues with being polite once I got stressed out. Not a happy scene. I do a little part time work now but my boss is me so if I get pissed it's only at myself.
Could you be depressed? It's always much harder for me in depression.
Like me I am a Taurus , I am like a fish out of water socially , some times I don't even see the point of conversing with people . But when hypo or manic I can charm the pant off you and enjoy it .
At a job its more complicated , more career climbers , back stabbers and manipulators .When it comes to money today anything goes . The more assertive and charming you can be and don't think about the others feeling or the fallout the better you will
do.
If you are found to be week in any way you most likely be exploited by others . But if you have a functional hypo professional in the workplace that can stay at that state they can out perform most other workers and thrive and succeed .
I read a very interesting book years ago about long term hypo professionals that out performed their peers in most ways . Ted Turner was one , the founder of CNN . People that new him said he was crazy and out of his mind .
I believe bp does have its benefits it enabled me to do things that people dream about , but the other side on the disease was very costly to me .
The book I am referring about is "Hypomanic Edge" a great read for a bp and helps us understand that we have a hidden gift .
rappcitee this is a response to the last couple of your recent post , and this a subject that I find very interesting .
BUT..if I'm depressed I actually fantasize about drowning the moron that is currently speaking to me. I have to stay home and not talk to anyone. That's one of the ways I know I'm depressed.
