Bf is About to Have Surgery- Nervous

I just got back from the hospital. My bf is set for surgery tomorrow around noon. I tried not to cry but couldn't hold it in. It's a minor surgery but I still can't help being worried because anything can go wrong. I just about lost it when he took off his necklace and gave it to me to keep til he got out. I got to be with him for a good two hours. Brought him dinner and such and we just laid there chatting and joking about the worst things that could happen (yeah, we have a weird way to ease our nerves). Now I'm home and I want to go back but visiting hours are over. I won't get to see him til 6 tomorrow evening. I should probably leave work early tomorrow cos I'm sure once he goes in I won't be much use to anyone there.

It's not a weird way to ease nerves, it's actually quite common. For many, many people it's difficult to express how scared they really are. I will pray that the surgery and recovery go smoothly for your bf. Try to hang in there until tomorrow, dear.

We got in some quality time last night and if I didn't have work I'd stay with him til it's time to go in. I just want to be there, you know? I told him to make sure he never does anything major cos my nerves cant handle that worrying. Lol. He'll be ok though. He will.

Well wishes for a successful surgery and easy recovery! When we thought my husband had broken his jaw and would require surgery, I was in tears (turned out he's just got a low pain tolerance and nothing was broken). Boy was that a relief! I know how you feel - you want to be there until the very last minute. Has he had his surgery yet? BIG HUGS to you both!

I think he's in surgery or something. I haven't heard from him in three hours and we were texting constantly. He was really nervous and his BP was so high they were contemplating cancelling it. I have no clue what's going on now but I'll be going to the hospital soon cos visiting hours start in a bit.

He's fine. Turns out his phone died right as they came to sedate him and he didn't get it back til after I got there. Even better- he got to feel the baby move. Now that's a good 'get well soon' :-) He was still a little high when I got there. At one point he literally fell over on the bed from giggling so hard. Too cute. God is great. Any number of things could have gone wrong despite the procedure being so simple but he's fine and I have to give thanks for that.
