At thanksgiving everyone was shocked by the appearance of my aunt, her weight loss and the obviously serious side effects of her medication. She's given injectable Invega which apparently is for schizoaffective disorder although we've read that can be a common misdiagnosis. She definitely is bipolar, mostly manic with occasional brief psychotic episodes when unmedicated. She really needs different meds, hopefully with the least amount of side effects. I believe she has taken Depakote but I don't know of anything else. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
Your Aunt needs to discuss her meds with her Pdoc, having many different people throw out suggestions of medications, when we all vary in our degree's of BiPolar, lengths of time having had it, Stability rates and Symptoms doesn't help much. We don't know anything about your Aunt, i.e. her diagnosis, symptoms, med history, etc.
She needs to talk to her prescribing Pdoc if the medication isn't working for her.
I agree with what OlderC wrote...… She needs to see her doctor and if the family are concerned if she'll allow it a family member should go with her to the appt
