I have made it clear to my family that I want to be cremated. I have never understood how a 'civilized' society can stuff their dead and then put them out on display. They never look like themselves, and it's just creepy and morbid, especially when people stand in line to view the body, and then walk by and talk about how they look just like themselves. BULLSHIT! THEY ARE DEAD! THEY LOOK LIKE SHIT!

its a personal choice. i wanted to be cremated, it was my plan until i met my husband. i told him i wanted to be cremated and he didnt like that. he said even in death he wanted to be close to me and if i were cremated that wouldnt be possible. even tho our bodies are but meer shells i guess you have to think about others and not just yourself. thats just my opinion. he said cremation is a lonely thing inspite of your passing away. its your choice my friend and what ever you decide is the right choice .

It's in my will that my ashes are to be mixed with my dogs' and we are to be scattered together in a place we call The Meadow Hill at the farm. So I won't be alone anyway.

I suppose I'll be buried with the rest of the family and have others visit the site. I had a fried who got cremated and missed the spreading of the ashes as a group. They saved me a bit of my friend so I could spread some ashes myself. He was gay and I ended up spreading his ashes in my garden right where the zuccini and cucumbers were. I thought he would enjoy it in a phallic sort of way....

My daughter works at a large cemetary park.She says ,the popular way to do it nowdays ,is cremation ,ashes placed in an urn or other pretty container,then placed in a glassed in niche..these niches often contain pictures of the dead person and their families..or memento's from their life.One old guy was a pro ball pitcher in the early days of pro baseball.In his niche is a brass urn,with a picture of him in his 20's in his uniform and his baseball glove.She says it's really sweet to see things like that.Some people have pix of their kids ,or their wedding pix in the niche.

So ,that's one option.

dobie,the glass niche with a pix of a fav dog would be perfect for you..daughter says ,people walk through the mosoliums to look at all the pretty urns and memento's...of perfect strangers..she says people like to do it on the weekends.
