Hey all. Sorry I've been MIA. Lots of ugly health fun. Anyway, my pdoc started me on Rexulti last week (it looked like it really was just an Abilify patent extender, but I am starting to wonder). She is a very good pdoc, and very smart, but it is almost impossible to get past the gatekeepers at her office to get to her to ask these things. I put a call in, but it could be several days before I hear anything.

So, my question is, has anyone had a hypomanic/manic episode triggered by an atypical antipsychotic? I never had this problem on Abilify or any other anti psych for that matter. I'm not entirely sure it even IS a hypomanic episode. I mean, I have been feeling so down for what seems like forever, and have been physically ill since August (still sorting that out, although now we believe it is some kind of autoimmune thing), I'm not sure I could identify "normal" if it had a big sign and a bullhorn.

I googled of course, and it appears as though there are sporadic cases in the literature, but, they are not really definitive, so I was wondering if anyone had any real experience w this. Thanks!
