I just started a few weeks ago and I try to write in it every day but sometimes lay in the bed in a mostly catatonic state for a few days and don't want to do anything especially write about how I am doing that day.
When I do write, I think it does help me a little. I am filing for disability and a couple people mentioned having a journal of how you feel day to day helps but I'm kinda scared to show it to anyone because...well just because. I'm also careful about what I put in there because some of the things that go on in my head might get me committed and I don't want that to happen.
I feel a bit like a 12 yr old girl keeping a journal but I don't care. If it helps, I'll try anything.
It started out as being a "Pain Journal" for my Fibro that I was going to give to my doctor so he knew which days were worse and maybe help figure out what causes my flareups but it quickly turning into a "BP Rollercoaster Journal" instead.
Anyone else keep a day to day journal of their ups and downs?

Yes, it was very helpful.
You don't have to let anyone see any part of your journal that you want to keep totally private. But it's better to write it down, I think, than to leave it out because you think it might get you committed. It may be helpful to you later, when you're looking back.
Plus, sometimes it just feels good to get it out!!!
If you're not quite ready to take the plunge and keep a journal, see if you can at least stick with moodtracker.com or a similar site.
It's nothing like pouring your heart out, but it can be very good for -- as the name indicates -- tracking your moods and after doing it for a while, you may begin to see patterns and triggers that you were unaware of until seeing them there.
Good luck.
Who knows? Maybe 'forcing' yourself to write in a journal will help you break out of those catatonic spells!!!
(((((Hugs)))))
don't really even do it here. it's a bummer, because it seems like a good outlet for a lot of people.
Great outlet for me. Good for keeping track of thoughts and feelings.
I have a separate journal for repressed memories. You have to be careful starting one of those though because it opens the floodgates.
It helps me alot!
Now that I've found this site , I can write freely really w-o being judged.
I used to write poems since I've been 15 and still have them .
wow blast from the past when I read them.
BUT HERE
No One know me personally , it' basically private and usually won't get held against you! lol
I've had that done to me several times. on like Facebook ect...
Writing is proof, but idk anymore.
It is what it is , I am who I am..
Screw It ! lol
Always Silky ~
I Love to read other journal's as well, especially the ones who have the same situation going on as me.
I'm basically home ALL the time because of my health issues and this gives me the opportunity to write down stuff that I'm sure I won't remember down the road. :}
So another plus for me!
Awesome site!
Always Silky ~
and be honest with yourself and others.
don't worry... you won't be committed.
screw what other people think...
i just think it's healthier to be open and honest.
my 2.
i haven't read all the responses but if you do a journal here you can always set it to private if you are still feeling uneasy, and then you can still share some, while you keep some private.
it's a helpful tool because if you sign out, no one is going to be able to read anything if they get on your computer... and it's easy for reminders and goals.
i like writing pen to paper, too.
journalling is healing.
helps you keep track of things.
Then later open them back up to just friends.
I get paranoid in waves. It's weird I know.
