This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
But I know how she feels.
I know thats the worst thing to say to someone who is suffering because it sounds condescending as if to say "yeah so what that happens to everyone".
I'm not.
I genuinely am at that very same point.

After about the third time of it, I finally realized, i had to quit fighting it. I was to be on meds for this illness the rest of my life, just like someone with High BP, or diabetes or whatever. And that if I didn't like the way I felt, all I had to do was tell my PDoc and he would make a change or an adjustment. I literally would tell him I hate the shit and I'm NOT going to take it anymore, that there had to be something else. He would calm me down and we would find another solution that worked better.
It took a few times before I found the right meds for me, but if I was going to take meds, than I would not settle for anything less than something that felt right for me. I'm part of the picture too, not just a PDoc with a script and a pen. I know my body and what feels right and what doesn't and I will speak up about it every time.
Hope that is of some help for you.
There have been a couple times that I forgot meds for just like a day...and it was horrible...I would never do it intentionally
good luck to you :)
There are a bunch of other things that you could go through that are not as bad or worse, but when you're in a state of mind where you don't know the difference, you won't be able to tell.
Stay on the meds, talk to your doctor about what you want and find a compromise. Otherwise you may end up far from "normal".
P.S., I speak from experience.
