Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Its good to say how you feel Amuseme, and its not as much fun when you're outcomes don't add up to what you might expect out of things, like families involvement and contact worth a sh_t, as you put it, hehe.
Fortunately you have us :-)
Many huggy returns!
Unfortunately , this year, everyone is out of town.
I'm in California, so because of the severe drought, all fireworks have been cancelled
:(
I'm glad you have ur boyfriend in ur life :-)
I often have mixed feelings about holidays myself. Many times, a trigger might have happened from a long tima ago, or my friends are out of town or we cannot get together or whatever......
My husband and I concentrated on my son's birthday-his 10th. When I started on here, my boy was 7? I think. Anyway, we got caught up in the getting the presents and setting things up for a Skype from his half sister and time flew by.
The birthday party was with ONE friend of my boy's, so he's a loner like his parents are, and it was very significant and special and private and close.
We DID NOT celebrate the Fourth.....it just passed. My boy has ADHD, so he was rather strung out after playing his new video games and playing iwth his tablet and reading his books he got and so we didn't go to our church which has patriotic songs and such on 4th of July weekend. It is a small church with many people in it from WWII, and I like going during 4th of July weekend to remember and honor my parents. My husband works on Sundays.
So, some 4th's have been empty--some 4th's have been busy--some 4th's have been highly depressing and this 4th, since the 7th happene on a Monday, was just the perfect time for my boy's birthday and so we concentrated on that and it got us through--seeeing his happiness and his growth and just enjoying close friends.
So if it were me, I'd take that boyfriend and make the best of any holiday and make it private and special and let the rest of the world go by because in the end it is the ones we love who make the holidays special.
Hugs,
