In my opinion we need to get out now.

It was one soldier. Yes, he took it upon himself to do something horrible. He should be held accountable. So where are you hoping to go with this? Bash America? It's a popular theme.

People are horrible no matter how you dress them up. Whether it be military, religious, teachers,coaches. Take your pick.

Governments all over the world have corruption and violence. Does it make it right? No. The majority of our brave Service men and women do the honorable thing.

Sorry, but I don't feel the need to lump all U.S. service members to every loose cannon inside. It's interesting how easy it is to point out the negativese and just gloss over the positives the military contributes all over the world.

Well, the First Amendment gets utilized to the fullest it seems.

It is just a crumbling situation over there for both afghans/americans. In the last few months things have taken a bad turn with afghans shooting US soliders, US soliders burning Korans, and now this. Sometimes we need to bow out. That doesn't mean forget that means just end this war.

For the record it was 4 Korans with secret messages in them from detainees. Already"desecrated" by their own. Sorry but wrapping them in new cloth and burying them at a Mosque , never to be walked across is how they say it should be done. Ok- with or without the messages inside them? Maybe they should shoot the original people who desecrated the Korans.

I agree maybe we should get out and just let them all feed off each other. It's ridiculous that no matter what is said and done we get the short end of the stick. One sided affair all around. We are great when other's get what they want from us. Money, military. When it's convenient for them. It's not just now it is a pattern world wide.

I agree with you Banshie, it was just one soldier who did this and the whole military shouldn't be blamed for it.

The situation is unfortunate and sad for all involved. Sometimes there is no winner. Life is not fair. I just hope this helps us to get out asap.

Yeah, but when has guilt by association been palatable by any of us? I will keep the good supportive thoughts for the men and women.

misunderstood...this is sad. what if this were happening in your country. it does in mine, our teens shoot each other. there is tragedy everywhere.

I'm not sure what misunderstood ....this is sad. Is referring to? What if it were in my country? Ummm, it happened here 9/11/2001. Lost 3 people that day personally. Nothing like looking out of your front door seeing the black sky and the smell of death. So, yes, there is horror and tradgedy world wide.

Peace is an action. It is a personal action that we each must find our own way to. Peace isn't a dream it is a reality that we all can reach personally. It is not passive it is not pollyanna. It is hard work. To want to have peace is a fine goal. Are we going to ever have it here all of us together here on this earth..probably never. But it is worth trying even in the worst circumstances.
