Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Ya see? Giving "peace a chance". * wink*
Hope a good day for all.
It's horrible, it's tragic, it's frightening, it's devastating, it's depressing.
Why do you think the military should somehow magically be exempt from this sort of thing happening within its ranks?
The action of one person who's probably not 'all there' and who was acting alone does not reflect badly on the entire U.S. Military.
Is 'world peace' an unrealistic achievement? Maybe so.... but that doesn't mean we should dismiss it. If more people were as 'unrealistic' as John Lennon was, the world would certainly be a better place. Would it not?
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didnt understand the assignment, and I told them they didnt understand life. -John Lennon
He was FIVE. And already smarter than most adults.
That's my opinion, and I stand my ground :)
Which is why soooo many people adore(d) him, and his views. I'm happily included.
I'm "happy" but so aware of the reality. Passivism is just as bad as pure aggressiveness.
Standing your ground is quite wonderful. Sharing your opinion is as well. That's probably one thing we could agree on. :)

Not trying to start an argument, I genuinely would like clarification if I am misunderstanding.
Well that is YOUR reality, not mine. I feel anything can be as bad as anything when balance is lost.
And I don't claim to be "happy".
My point is that regardless of what is "nice" or what would be "right", the reality is as long as you have humans who are running with their own agendas whether it be politics, religion or whatever "view" they have, you will not have this "peace." It does not matter what walk of life you come from.
Money, egos, power. It's sad yes but it will not change. Having all the hope in the world won't change it. It applies to all areas of life not just "wars".
Being dismissive would be that I do not value your thoughts or ideas. ( or that I do not value people in general) I do not have to agree though. I still stand on my opinion about John Lennon.
All's good in my book- appreciate the discussion.
I think you make some valid points.... that being said, I think things would be so much worse if we all felt peace was unrealistic. That's all I'm saying. There can't be balance without opposing forces.
My reality is fine as you feel yours is. Balance is key with most things I would think? That was my point, about passivism and all out aggression. I just posted my meaning and saw your two follow up responses. This was not personal nor would I assume or claim to state where you are in any area in your life.
