I have a talking parrot that says so many things and sings so many songs. Last night as usual he tells me it's time to go to bed when he sings that 50's song "Goodnight sweetheart" by Sam Cooke. I put him to bed and then I was making some kind of noise and he starting squawking really loud. I pulled up the cage cover really fast like "What the heck". And he goes, SHHH, GO TO BED!! I found myself apologizing to the bird and closing the night cover.


Even my bird tells me what to do! Geez

HAHAHA!!! That's hysterical. I'm house sitting right now and there's a bird there who squawks really loudly. Here i am fumbling with the alarm dis-armor and he's squawking away, "Get out, get out, door open, door open!". I swear, i almost lost it. So, i started singing to him and he calmed down. At least, i think it's a "he" - in these gender-bending days, is it ok for he to just be a him? I feel like the bird is making me consider and reconsider my political correctness. LOL!

It was "Goodnight Sweetheart" by the Spaniels not Sam Cooke. He does sing "Cupid" by Sam Cooke too. I think it's about a dozen songs or so he sings,.

Mr. Rodgers neighborhood, I want to be kissed by you boop boop see do by Betty Boop. My Cherie Amour by Stevie Wonder. The Itsy Bitsy Spider, On the good ship lollipop, Mommas little baby loves shortenbread. Say Say ole playmate. Sugar Sugar by the Archies. You are so beautiful by Joe Cocker. Put your little foot. I'm a little tea pot. You are my sunshine. And he's having a very hard time with the Hee Haww, "Where O Where are you tonight".

The list goes on and on with the words.. When he eats something he goes Mmmmm, that tastes so good! When we leave him alone he's crying at the door. Baby, let me in! I've never had a bird before and it's a trip to watch him. People come over and they are stunned. So am I.

When I was a kid my gran had a parrot. My gran swore a lot so the parrot was a bit potty mouthed lol! The parrot was named Joey & he was always flying around the room, sitting on his branch & dancing on the settee. The vicar came round one day & Joey swore at him until he left lol!
