Some meds are famous for making us fatter. Actually the meds make us hungry and we eat more to settle our stomachs or just because.

Fewer meds give us nausea helping us lose weight but mostly we are overweight.

Different meds cause different side effects to different people.

I didn't eat too much on topomax either.. in fact it made me a little speedy..x

Hunger pains usually are in the head, especially if you are keeping good track of your food intake so you know you can't be starving. I don't eat when I "feel hungry" - I eat when I know it's been long enough since my last meal.

i just look up side effect and one is weight loss. so i guess it may be in your head if you are depressed you may eat to fill the void. it is hard to say why you are doing this.

Well I don't know whats going on all I know is I have a migraine from barley eating today!

It's possible. There is an area of the brain that controls hunger. Some medications effect this area of the brain, um for better or for worse.

If it's making you eat less then count your self lucky. As for me I have a serious weight problem and psych meds didn't help. I gained 100 lbs in one year. I stopped gaining finally but I can't get the weight back off.

And I'm so sick and tired of people hassling me over it.

I also gained about 100 lbs in just over a year with all these meds. My GP recommended Topamax to help me lose weight and my pdoc agreed with him. So I'm going to be starting in the next week or so. I hope it does the trick because if it doesn't I'm out of luck.

I take topomas and other pills. I eat brekfast lunch and dinner. I exercise I eat fruit snacks. A half an hour after any meal I am ravenous. I get a headache I am so hungry. My stomach makes growly noises. I eat aslice of bread or a piece of chocolate and I start having barf burps.
