I did okay when I was first put on Abilify, but my pdoc upped my dose and now I have awful munchies. This is really bad since I'm already overweight. Anyone else have this issue? It seemed to lessen after a while, but this time its lasting longer. What do you guys think?

It's awful!! And I'm trying so hard on this very restricted diet, but I am hungry ALL the time. MY GP told me thats what abilify does....makes you ravenous!!! Totally sucks, but the drug works for me.

I was on Abilify for a couple of years and didn't experience this. I had no side effects at all. Guess I was lucky. Hated to stop because it worked so well, but it was too expensive to continue.

I gained weight on depakote but never on abilify I can go days with out eating now? Sorry it seems to work different for you =(

The worst for me, is that it hits in the middle of the night, so I am pigging out half asleep.

my doctor said Abilify would not cause weight gain, but now that you mention it, I *have* had the munchies since I have been taking it.

It's supposed to be better for weight gain that a lot of them... but yeah. I'm trying to fight the munch temptation but my best friend just made muddy buddies so i don't know how long I'll last...

I don't have a problem with munchies but I did on my short stint on abilify. I was told to eat a handful of raw nuts (not the totally fattening kind soaked in bad oils.) This is supposed to help the craving for carbs and other things.

yes same for me,if not hammered down i eat it lol
