I've been depressed for awhile now. I was reading up on bipolar disorder and it sad in one article that bipolar depression can last up to 3 months. I always get confused on which on I am( 1 or 2). It's the one where I don't really get the manic part but get the severe depression. I did call my psychiatric nurse practioner yesterday but she was out sick. I'm thinking of trying her tomorrow to see if I'm doing the right things and if there anything else that will help.
Reading about depression last 3 months scared the heck out of me. It said untreated, it last longer but I've been under treatment for years. I don't know how I would handle 3 months worth of depression. I don't mean to scare anyone and maybe this article is completely accurate.
I writing this because I'm very scared and don't have anybody close by to console me. I live with my teenage son and his father's mother. They aren't the types that cuddle or hug a lot which is fine. My son get upset and scared when he sees me cry so I don't want to put him through that. His grandmother has a lot on her plate because one of sons died about a month ago. I think this was what sent me into depression because it reminded me of when my husband died less than 2 years, ago. I don't want to add to her sadness. I've been trying hide a lot of my depression from them. I would just mention it briefly so they knew what was going on with me.
I don't really have anyone else living near that I know well. My dad lives about 30-40 minutes away but is busy a lot of time but he does call me around 3 time a month to see how I doing.
Most of my family lives far away as with most of my friends.
I know this might sound silly coming from a 45 year old is that I would to have someone that I would see in person that would hug me or put their arm around me while they would tell me soothing things. I'm picturing like a parent would.
Has anyone else felt this way?

Mom and I have errands to run this morning. She said we can get sushi for lunch though. I go back to work today. What are you looking forward to this weekend?

Quick, before the evil MONday gets here! Let's climb those mountains, dance in the meadows, dip our feet in the ocean....Okay, so most of us won't be doing any of That. Sadly. But today can still be a great day!The area behind our back fence is on an incline, with less than two feet on even ground at the top. I don't balance well enough for the incline, but our mower guy mows that...

I'm sure the family death of your uncle (?) has triggered your depression and reignited some grief. I don't recall if you have a therapist or a counsellor.... Even a grief counsellor for shorter term therapy....
While I feel It's good to inform yourself about your illness, try not to scare yourself with online reading. I'm good at scaring myself, too.
You're certainly not alone sweetie. Sending support xx
I'm sure you are still deeply grieving .
Feeling sad is normal
Depression can be situational { like grief } or chemical, like a mood swing.
I think talking with your health team will help.
You may need an extra boost of meds to ease your way through this time

Your depression is just being aggravated by grief. Grief is going to take time. I'm so sorry it's not easy. When both my parents passed within a year of each other, my depression & grief got to the point where I had to go outpatient at a local clinic. It really helped. The only other thing that helped after that was just time.
Many Huggggsssss....
You are all wonderful. I don't know what I would do without you and DS.
Many blessings to all of you and hugs,
