Here we go again. The job that I JUST started three weeks ago may be canning me. I was told that there would be a discussion about my "failure to catch on quick enough" tomorrow. I am pretty sure that I am going to be shown the door...AGAIN. this happened to me last June at another job. I was given five weeks then fired because I couldn't "get it". I have experienced NOTHING BUT FAILURE FOR THE LAST YEAR OF MY LIFE. and as if I am not already "ashamed" enough, I have my mother saying "it's like you don't want anything to work out for you" and my father saying similar things. I hate them all. I really think something is wrong with me. I held the same job for almost 13 YEARS!!!! I now believe that it was because it was something I could do in my sleep. There was nothing challenging. Since I emerged back into the workforce after my layoff a year ago, I do take longer to catch onto things. Now I can't remember stuff. I have a hard time reading even magazines. I bring home library books that sit because I can't concentrate long enough to read. Idk wth I am going to do if they let me go tomorrow. I feel desperate and numb. I have a horrible cold on top of it all and I feel like crap.
I am ready to die. I serve no purpose. I am of no use to anyone or anything.

Mom and I have errands to run this morning. She said we can get sushi for lunch though. I go back to work today. What are you looking forward to this weekend?

1) I second the motion about seeing a pdoc and a tdoc
2) Have you had a chance to update your skills around various software programs and computer skills? Do you feel you are current or catching up in the workplace?
3) Being proactive in the workplace and discussing a problem you are having is worth a million dollars....It's so much harder when they have to come to you. Right now the workforce is a dime a dozen and if you can't get it or can't fit in there is only one word "Next!" You have to convince them that you CAN!!!!
4) Easier said than done but positive self-talk is one way to achieve the goal
I'm going through everything you are going through!!!! It's painful but you have to believe there is a job for me out there find it! Look at where things are breaking down and falling apart so you can learn from them and find ways to overcome the obstacle. (((hugs))) none of this is easy. Being hard on yourself, being negative only amplifies.....
Please reach out to your docs, and if you're not getting the right help, reach out to different ones. It SUCKS navigating all this, but you just gotta keep going.
Hugs!!
You are so hard on yourself. I know b/c I'm the same way. I know losing this job and the rejection that would accompany it is so hard -- but you DID have a job for about 13 years, right? That in and of itself is something to be proud of.
Have you ever thought of going to vocational rehabilitation in your state for help matching you up with a job? I did and after giving me a few easy tests and asking about my interests and background skills, they came up with a number of good options for ME (each person is unique).
I'm so proud of you for taking on a number of jobs and fighting for your position. Don't forget -- Being sick is a number one reason our moods plummet. I know yours has been down for awhile, but having a cold will make it so much worse. Don't be too hard on yourself. Your body may be telling you it's time to seek disability. Have you tried that? (I'm sorry if you already mentioned it - I forgot - my memory isn't that great anymore)
Sorry to hear about your job problem. I am going now through the beginning of a potential job problem.
I have been semi-successfully working for a Security company at a lubrication plant. Well, I think I talked too much about my personal stuff....etc. I was not really "showing off" just talked about my photography and road trips...that I took and would like to take.
Anyway.... I think people are getting annoyed at me, or just starting to talk very bad rumors about me. I am not sure exactly what.
Anyway, in a nut shell the guys are screwing with me. I kinda understand how guys are. Or people in general. Playing games, and twisting words and phrases into something that is more embellished. Or negative.
Anyway..... I will go back and just be professional. Ill great people with Hello Sir..and Good by sir. .nothing else.....
I think my day at this place are kinda winding down. I think they have it in for me.
Anyway.. I think my up coming road trip will be out..not a big deal. I have to re-situate myself with another job, and a different job. I am hoping graphic design......
Also, I have health concerns. I have been eating a lot. I gained 12 lbs. I am hoping my blood sugar is fairly ok....and not too high on the latest blood work.
Good thing, I payed off my debt...just have a few more thundered dollars to go. So if this job goes south on me, I am not really in debt that much.
Anyway, I feel your frustration. Jobs are hard to really keep for lots of people. Just hang in there....keep your head up....
Why not do what 32behappy said and try a rehab counselor. Our state has Workforce to help people looking for jobs, displaced women, and training for certain people. I'm sure your state must have something like that?
Try to hang in there. Big hugs for you.
Was the position you held for over 13 years in the medical billing field?
