Anyone else take it for anxiety issues?

Pdoc just started me on it today since the celexa made my anxieties worse.

Any side effects, any good comments about lexapro?

I was on it before and went manic without a mood stabilizer but my pdoc said geodon can act as a stabilizer as an off label use.

I just want opinions....

I also take Klonopin so I don't know personally about anti-anxiety with Lexapro, but I know quite a few people on it who say it's worked wonders for their anxiety.

My nephew took it and it took care of his depression and anxiety really well.
If you're on a stabalizer chances are you won't have any mania issues.

I was on Lexapro and Geodon and neither helped. I've had a hard time finding the right meds. I'm on Depakote now and experiencing problems. All of the above drugs are mood stabilizers and I've always been on valium or xanax for panic attacks, but I'm agoraphobic, too, so.....Anyway, good luck!

Brenny--Geodon seems to stabilize me quite well I just have problems with anxiety issues and pdoc thinks the anxiety is causing the paranoia outbursts and I would have to agree. I guess I am on lexapro to make the geodon work better. I am fine today but who knows what will happen next......

Anyone else?

I was on Lexapro and it made me crazy manic, then when I went off of it I had horrible withdrawl symptoms ( it did nothing for my anxiety). Klonopin has done wonders for the anxiety.

I take Lexapro. My original pdoc prescribed it for depression and my anxiety. It does take a medium edge off the anxiety and as far as I know is not addictive like klonopin can be. I've also taken klonopin and do like it better however I am a bit skiddish of it due to the fact it can be addictive and I have an addictive personality.

I used to be on Lexapro for my anti-depressant now I am on Zoloft, the only thing that helps my anxiety is Xanax.

Im on lexapro for the depression side cant tell if it helps as Ive been in a hypomania for about 3 weeks, Im not sure if its contributing to the mania or not.

I take risperidone for agitation.

Thanks everyone so far I don't notice a difference being on the lexapro. I guess maybe I am just lucky. And I only take a small amount too like 5 mg. My pdoc made me break the 10 mg sample tablets in half.....if I don't have any serious side effects, then the pdoc is gonna stick me on the lexapro for good for a while.....she thinks stuff like ativan and kionopin are too addicting and she doesn't want me to have them.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
