I should mention daughter wants a wii too and her birthday is coming up.

Hubby won't let me buy a wii. He says that we're not in dire need of funds right now but wants to see if another check is gonna come and wants to save the money. I know that there's not going to be another check because like I said they can't find him and they froze his assets and that's all I got coming to me right now. I guess saving would be a good idea, But I really want a wii bad.

household bills should be taken care of first. in these economic times you dont want to screw up paying bills and getting behind one bit. a wii will still be available later on down the road

EBT shouldn't be frozen, the money my ex was getting was TANIF ob EBT because I was missing and was never frozen but has to be reimbursed by me

Yikes girl, if I had house bills, a wii would be the furthest thing from my mind. I know what its like to want something really bad, but we have to be careful to prioritize. I realize that your daughter has a birthday coming up, but how much do you normally spend on her? My kids get a $50 gift tops, anything else they have to save for.

Sometimes we can get our mind set on something so strongly it distorts the reality of our world. Try to find something else to replace your thoughts about it and accept that it isnt meant to be right now. This is a good time to use your behavior modification skills and just say NO. Hugs

I am a bit confused as to your relationship with your child's birth father... it should be based purely on his providing for his child and if he is behind it is his responsibility to find an avenue to get up to date on his child support and bills not yours...

As far as wanting a wii and wii fit.. you should evaluate your financial situation.... can you afford it or would you suffer either short term or long term.. fiscal responsibility should always come first.. its easy to say you or your daughter want one but when you look at your income less expenses .. how much is left and how much of savings account do you have.. they recommend 3 months of pay as a cushion should an emergency arise..

If you feel the money the birth father provides could go for this item, then wait for his money to arrive and not use yours or your husbands instead... but personally no matter how much I want an item, I make sure my needs are met first.. take care ((hugs)) polar

Thanks for all the comments. I know I should hold back and the hubby is making me save the money. I know that if I spend it on what I want that would result in him wanting to file for a divorce and I don't want to do that. So I guess I am just gonna put the money in the bank and save it.

Umm I'm just really nosey but why not use the money on the the house bills and then in a short bit you'll have money for a WII, I'm saving for a a divorce right now but it's nor happenin for a bit

I thought the hubby was in dire need but he's talking about going out to eat this weekend so I guess he's not short on money as my friend thinks he is. She was trying to figure out a way to give us some mony and she lives on ssdi and credit cards.....Hubby wants me to save the money so whether or not I want a wii I have to save it. Hubby says he has the house bills covered right now and wants the money just sitting in the bank waiting. I have a hard time saving money so maybe I should put it in his bank account and 73 of it in mine so I will have something at least in my bank account.
