Hi there, it breaks my heart your current situation. A hearing is coming up for you but until then is in any way you can escape the heat? What are your plans for the next few weeks

I have learned there are places around town that have shade where I can park, I stay at the library a lot. I will just continue with my routine. I don't hold out any hope for my hearing, They turned me down twice already and my pdoc won't say I can't work. I have an appt in 3 weeks at the mental health clinic and I will tell them I no longer can work and am in my car. I'd bet anything they still won't say I can't work. My hearing isn't till after the first of the year. I just have to suffer through 3 more months of intense heat. It really sucks. I pray to die every night but God doesn't care. He wants me to suffer, otherwise He'd do something for me. He has the power, He just won't use it. There is no way to really escape the heat.

Isn't applying for disability a matter of knowing which type of answers on the paperwork get you qualified for what you obviously deserve and using them? A lawyer like Jan says sounds smart to me to help with this, maybe one that can recommend his own medicine rather than yours. One that knows how to fill out the forms right, stupid freaking doctors some of them! The clerks that work for disability assessment know the answers and they didn't have to go to medical school.

A different pdoc sounds right if he is the roadblock here, since he is De-facto saying you're malingering or just unable to find work and are in fact capable. If that's not the case he is just plain WRONG.

There is a long list of cooling stations. I know it is hard for you to be around people but if you go where others are in your situation you may overhear good information that will lead you to a safe place. If you stay by yourself no one will likely come knocking at your window to help you out of this situation. There are people who will volunteer to help out because of the heat and these people care.

I read that people 50+ are rarely reviewed by SS once they get disability. So keep your hopes up.

Best wishes to you. The cooling center sounds like a good idea. I would imagine there are people at such places aimed at helping people in your similar position. I know it stinks to talk to people when there is some social anxiety going on, but you never know who might be on the listening end to help you get to a new plateau. Don't give up. Never give up. No matter how many times you tell someone your situation, just don't stop reaching out to the real life people like you're reaching out to us right now.

You are n my thoughts and prayers and I hope your hearing goes well. Getting a lawyer isn't a bad idea. I feel terrible for you stuck in that blazing heat. I wish I had some good suggestions but I am at a loss for words....sending you hugs and hoping things turn around soon.
