1 of my anxieties.

Does anyone else feel this way?  I fear dealing with government agencies(social security, welfare).  The forms are complicated and long.  Some of the questions are confusing so you not sure how to answer.


I ended fearing, after I have turned in the forms, that I filled something out wrong and the agency will throw me in federal prison.


Such an awful fear.

I know how you feel Jennifer. When I went in and applied for Medicaid and food stamps I just had to have them help me fill out the forms. I had my attorney get me set up on social security. Don't feel alone. I'm there with you.

I with you on this Jenn those forms are so frustrating! Just leave it blank if you don't know the answer and have someone help you.I know just what you are going through I'm trying to change my name with the DMV and Social Security you can imagine how much fun that is!

Good for you Jenn...yes the forms are a pain in the butt. If you go to SS office they can guide you, and dept. social services as well. May has it right, leave it blank...the powers that be will let you know what is needed. Best Of LucK!! ML

I just went through a terrible ordeal with social services a/k/a welfare office. They cancelled my food stamps without warning and without my legal right of appeal. They reinstated them after I threatened to go to media. My worker claimed she never got my application. Then they cancelled my medicaid because another worker claimed she lost my application! Those people are sadistic incompetents!!! They love to scare people. Don't worry. Unless you deliberately falsify information about your income, they will NOT throw you in federal prison!

Yes, Jen, I go through that, too, and I am not even asking for money. The yearly tax return, renewing my driver's license or attempting to get utility service is enough to send me into paranoid delusions. Asking for money? I have literally slept on streets and in fields (as a kid) rather challenge that one.

I feel the same way. Filling out government forms is scary. More than once after filling something out and sent it in, thought oh no! I did that wrong. I'm going to go to jail or get fined big time. I'm on SS disability and whenever I hear from them I freak out. It's just a shame that the government can scare people the way they do. The DMV can be the worse as far as the employees treating you like a human being. A lot of those people are just mean. They should feel lucky to have a government job with good benefits and job security.
