I had a friend named Mickey who had been battling lung cancer. Well I messaged her a few months back asking how it was going and she told me that she'd be going through kemo therapy soon. I tried to message her the next day and I didn't get a response. I looked on her social media and her friends told all her followers that Mickey had died over night. She seemed so happy when I was talking to her earlier that night and it still breaks my heart that I last messages her just hours before she died. This was about 3 months back and I just can't get over it. I keep beating myself up over it. I tell myself I could've done something to help. I just need help. My family doesn't understand and quite frankly they don't care so I've come here.

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

For a lot of people, as they go through the dying process they withdraw from friends, and then family, and finally they are left with a very few people. This is different from the process where family and friends abandon the dying person. In this case the dying person effectively abandons the living.
IT could be a lot of things, all you can do is come to terms with it. Part of it is accepting that you may never understand it.
I am so sorry for your loss.
I think then the suffering is passed onto those who weren't expecting it...
It's a shock... In our culture we often think that death is a bad thing... I don't know that it is... It's unknown to us as we live... I doubt that Micky is that far away...
Big hug for you ... I think the words in the Serenity Prayer are some of the wisest words I've ever heard whether or not one believes in God I think the concept is wise...
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change... Change the things I can and have the wisdom to know the difference
It was her time to pass and that may not be easy to accept but I think that she was happy and feeling good is a great thing... Big hug....xo
