Hello everyone,
I just found this group. My family tells me that I needed to join a group to help with my anxiety and grief. My husband of 23 years passed away on September 21, 2020. I am totally lost and grieving terribly. The grief has increased my Blood Pressure, I have pain all over my body and I feel like I have been run over by a truck.
I do not know if my life will resemble a normal one for a long time. I just want to bury my head in the sand and make the world go away. My family is telling me to get out of the house, go shopping, go to a movie. That is easier said than done.
How long does this last? I want to be me again, I know I am in there somewhere...
Thank you for listening to me.
Linda

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I'm not going to sugar coat it. Everyone is different, but your life has changed. The concept of normal will be different, but I wouldn't worry about that at this point. Join groups. There's a bunch of online groups (Facebook). There are (or used to be pre-pandemic) in person groups that you can look into (griefshare, hospice places and churches have programs). There are therapists to help with grief. It's best to talk about it with people who have been there and get it. If you have kids, make sure their taken care of because they just suffered a big loss too.
He was in hospice so that is a very good idea you gave to me. I will contact them. They are Vitas, do you know of them? I was a little disappointed with a couple of things with them but I am not going to dwell on that.
He was bedridden for the last year of his life and I took care of him myself until I got so exhausted I had to have help.
Now I feel lost with no one to care for, tell jokes to, sing songs until he said I needed to save money for singing lessons, (he had a good sense of humor) We talked politics, current events, and every subject under the sun the man was brilliant and interesting.
Thanks again
If there are any online meetup groups for bereavement or Widows and Widowers you can be in a place that people support one another
If you have a religious affiliation a leader would be a good person to talk to or maybe have some social distance meetings with
You are going through this painful time with the world in such a mess right now and I'm sorry that you are
We have a good Widows and Widowers board on here... People on there are in different stages of healing
When you are able to a RL bereavement group may help a great deal
Gentle hug..... I'll give you a link to the Widows and Widowers board on here.... I'll also give you a link for crisis hotlines if you need someone to talk to.... xo
