I've lost my birth family and it's a difficult and painful process..... Reach out for all of the support that you can sweetie
I am so sorry that you and your family are going through this..... xo
Maybe do something in her honor either now or later, and write down your best memories, as you sit together, talking of those things can be precious memories to share together, if you can. As you write, if you can't talk to her, write in form of a letter to her, asking in first person if she remembers these things too, or questions you have for her. walks are great for healing too, as you are working thru these emotions in your mind. Again, I am so sorry!! <3
She was too young to die and I was so not ready (not that you can be ready) I looked up stats on her illness- how long will she likely live and prepared myself (not at all- I thought I did though) for all the things in my life she would likely miss.
It's a pain I wouldn't wish on anyone to know it's coming and to have it happen. It's been 4 years now and I still have "I want my mommy!" Moments.
So many hugs to you!!
What I am trying to say is: no one can predict death, and that you do not die on another's bidding. Encourage your Mom to have a positive outlook on life so that she would have the will to live, so that her willpower alone will induce her body to mount sufficient body reserves to recover from her illnesses. Medical treatment is only part of the cure. The major curative factor is a positive viewpoint on life, and the belief/faith in recovery. I watched patients on the brink of death, clawing back to life on the mere promise that they would be allowed home to live with their families. So encourage her to fight back and not to surrender to death. Be strong for your Mom. Best wishes, Marie
I'm sorry to hear that you're in so much pain in the preparation process. I haven't lost either of my parents yet. So I don't have the first-hand experience to refer to. Just know your DS family and I are here for you. Rob
I lost my mother in March after a long battle with Cancer. As much as I thought I knew it was inevitable, nothing could have prepared me for the grief. I am so sorry that you have to go through this, I know it hurts so much. And then because of the pandemic we were not allowed to hold a funeral until just last week. I was lucky to have been by her side when she passed. Cherish the time you have left with her. Remember all the good times. Google "7 stages of grief" it helps a lot to know what you are going through is totally normal. And be gentle with yourself :)
My name is Sophia I'm 36 yrs and i just recently lost my mother on November 24 2019. She had passed away from chrrosis of the liver amd was sick for a very long time. By the time I found out about the disease it was already in the late stage. She was in and out of the hospital and finally they gave us the diagnoses and said she needs a new liver. I had taken care of my mom off and on for the last ten years of her life. It was the last 5 that were the hardest. She was living with me and my husband and he was in denial of her illness. He was not very supportive the entire time. She was my everyday responsibility and she had me going 100 mph most of the time.
When it all came to a complete stop, gravitiy finally took its pull and I did not know how to think of tomorrow with out her.
The relationship i had with her was not always peaches and cream but I will always love my mother.
Tomorrow will be hard Alyangle but she would want you to make the effort. As painful as it will be but you must.
There is no way to prepare you for this to be quite honest. I hope that youre able to communicate if youre not together in person. Talk of the memories and special times. Make sure she is at peace and let her know that you will be okay. I give you and your family the biggest hug Alyangle. Stay strong, youre not alone.
