My older sister passed in 2019. When she was 89 she couldn't do things for herself and wasn't eating. She needed someone with her all the time. It wasn't possible for me to do that. And with her doctor's help I made the decision to have hospice come to help. Within a few weeks she fell. And a week after that she died. I feel that my decision killed her. Has anyone has this experience? I need to come to terms with any part I had in her passing.

Good Thursday to you!I've been watching a really long trial on Youtube these last couple of nights and will finish tomorrowHopefully I'll be in the land of nod soon and I hope my peeps are having sweet dreams followed by a great daySending hugs...xo
I too had to face caring for my sister who suffered from stage 4 cancer, she had been fighting it for 7.5 years when her body showed signs of losing her struggle to survive. Hospice was called in and I was there as her, feeling very inadequate, "Hospice Nurse". I administered the meds that kept her comfortable until her final breath. Hospice personnel who would come into her home, would help me the family member understand she would never "get better", my job was to ease her as comfortably into the next step she would inevitably take, which was death. Did it make it any easier? No. Did I cause her death? No. I loved her til the bitter end. She had a time to be born and a time to die, that was set before the foundations of the world by God the Father. Please hear my cry for you to forgive yourself and know that you did the most loving thing you could do, which is be a wonderful sister and get her help exactly when she needed it. Some help in this life allows our loved ones to stick around a bit longer and some help comes in the form of helping them pass into their eternity. Both are loving. Rest assured she loved you, doesn't blame you and will always be in your heart as your loving sister.
I was their caregiver and I had to make some really hard decisions as they became sicker..
I think survivors guilt is pretty common and it's part of grief sweetie.... Another huge hug
You did nothing wrong... She had good help... Hospice workers are wonderful ... It was her time to go..... xo
Sending you peace
