.... I'm not even sure where to start. Omar and I Met in 2012 during orientation for university. We've dated even since but after graduating we lived on opposite sides of the island (Jamaica). We visited each other often and he would ship little gifts for me 'just because', he was the sweetest person. He'd watch me sleep at nights, he was the perfect gentleman with the purest heart. He was consistent in all he did and ensured that I had no doubt of his love for me. Whenever possible he would get me a rose and smile saying how much he loved me. On June 24th (his 25th birthday) I woke late and had to run right into work but I noticed that I didn't hear from him (we always text each other good morning). At around 8:45 in the morning while at work I heard the security officer called me outside. When I walked out the door, there was Omar standing with one white rose in his hands and smiling so sweetly at me. He drove 300miles to give me a rose and a kiss on his birthday. I was so excited to see him I just kept smiling. Right after giving me the rose he told me he had to leave because his friend drove him down and they had to get back. I asked him to stay and I'd treat him to lunch but he declined. I got one more kiss and a hug then he told me that he plans on bringing me out for seafood the following Wednesday. On his way up he messaged me and we chatted a little. At about 2:30pm I noticed that I haven't heard from him and he would normally let me know when he got home. I messaged him but no reply. Then about an hr later his friend's girlfriend called me and told me they were in an accident. I immediately left work and headed across the island to his side. Because of the distance I called his older sister telling her to check up on him for me. For the entire drive into Kingston I started planning how much money I had for his medical expenses, getting a transfer to be closer to him etc. Upon reaching there his parents and coworkers were there. I just wanted to see him and hug him because I'm happy he's not dead. The same sister I called came and brought me to him. I could feel her squeezing my hand as she held it. She brought me to a secluded area and showed me a body laying on a stretcher. I was confused, discombobulated. Why was she showing this person to me? She look at me with tears in my eyes and said 'Omar is gone'...... My whole life went just like that. Turns out his friend ran into the back of a truck on the highway. Omar died, his friend survived. All our plans died that day. Our plan to get married which we started so I had to delete all those from my phone, our baby names, where we were going to love.. Everything. He was the only one in the world who I had and now I have nothing. During the days I go to work but my mind isn't there. As I get home I curl up and start to cry. He's the only one I called or texted. I was borderline depressed until my coworkers intervened. Now all I have are his messages and videos. His sister is a source of strength for me. I'm 25 as well but I believe in the Resurrection hope and I know that I will see him again in paradise. When Omar died he was wearing a necklace I had bought it. I have it safe because one day I'll give it back to him. But for now I still cry everyday because even thought I know I will see him again I still miss him, I'm still lonely without him but there's no one else out there for me
