Bedwetting Support Group
Bedwetting (or nocturnal enuresis or sleepwetting) is involuntary urination while asleep. It is the normal state of affairs in infancy, but can be a source of embarrassment when it persists into school age or the teen or adult years. Find others who are coping with a bedwetting problem and share your experiences and questions.
That sounds like a good way of handling it. I think I Will try that on my daughter.
It works around here. We(my husband and I) have a few conditions in order for emily to wear panties that she has to abide by but she loves wearing them over a diaper anytime. Let me know how it goes with your daughter. If you have any questions or need help with what I do with Emily, just ask me!
Have a great day!!

To answer your question, no it isn't punishment. We do it because we have to. It's necessary to provide protection for her against any accidents. Emily may feel it is punishment but she's told so many times that it is NOT punishment but only done since she cannot control her bladder, she must wear a diaper for the sake of personal hygiene and cleanliness. I don't like having to do it and don't mean to make her feel like she's being punished but it's just the way it is.

Firstly, i want to say that if your child DOES NOT want to wear a diaper, whether or not you consider it a punishment, it becomes a punishment. full stop.
I must insist that children are NEVER put into diapers if they do not want to be in them, even if it means that they have accidents in front of other people. It can cause un-repairable damage to the child. It has to be the child's own choice.
I should know

I hate it whenever i read a post/story of a child being placed into a diaper against their will, even if it is for their benefit. you may not notice any problems from it at the moment but in the future your child will more than likely suffer from emotional problems due to this.
If your daugther is happy to wear the diaper, of her own free will then i see no problems, but your post says she is not.. Please don't do it.. it is wrong.
I think the PP must have had done traumatic experience that is clouding their judgment on this issue.
So maybe, it is the right time to support her and seek out for a solution. Diapers are a temporary solution, whereas treatment is the permanent one.
What you describe is the same my mom experiences with Daphne. She is her bio daughter and is 15. Since many years she wets and messes not regularly but to be on the safe side mom puts her in diapers for most of the times. Daphne doesn't like it but mom believes it is the best for her and us. Because I'm diapered too you can understand that my mom would be keen to reduce her workload with washing and so. Of course I help her with the house chores like washing and cooking but some things mom needs to do by herself and don't want to leave it to Daphne or me.
Yes I can understand your mother wanting to reduce washing. Since both you girls are still having accidents, diapers can be very helpful. Not only do they help with having to wash endless amounts of clothing but wearing a diaper helps protect other things too such as furniture, floors and creating a slight mess by keeping your accident contained within the diaper. I'm glad you understand why you wear them and you seem very mature about it. I hope your sister Daphne understands too. I know she and you may not like them very much but they are for your benefit too. My oldest isn't the fondest of being in diapers but they do help her get around her incontinence problem and live her life normally. They also prevent her from having visibly embarrassing accidents. I hope you understand this and accept your mothers decision to have both you girls in them when she feels it is the best option for you two.
I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!
