I think I was watching tv without crocheting or having barriers on my fingers. I am still experimenting with foods. I had peanut butter cookies the day before and quite a bit of sugar. The effects may have caused more urges. I am thinking I need to stay away from peanutbutter. Almonds and Walnuts don't seem to bother me as much.

Even tho you happened to pull you've learned from it and that is great. One more step to being pullfree.

It's encouragaging that you were able to stop yourself and that you only pulled some and not all. Now that is success.

I decided to update. My family and I recently came back from a wonderful vacation from Isle of Palms in Charleston, Sc. This time of year, the beach and pool area in hotel is isolated as everyone is back to school. My daughter is homeschooled so we are super flexible with our plans. The beach is so relaxing to me. I just love walking in the sand and finding seashell treasures. This is our first time on this island and the seashells were wonderful. Two sand dollars and tons of conch shells which are difficult to find. I stayed pull-free the entire trip. Yesterday I did pull 1 brow hair so I need to start over with this area, but overall, I am feeling good about it all. My family and I have started a new challenge together. Crzychick wanted me to post it in the "stop pulling tips" so I will do that soon. My husband tends to pick at blisters, calluses and wants to improve on some bad words that slip out so he can be a better example to our ten year old. My daughter has had an awful time with mosquito bites. She scratches until they start to bleed and then picks on the scabs. She also tends to pick at her lips and bites her nails. I have my trich problems and tend to bite the skin around my nails. We each have our issues. Well, I came up with the idea of using carnival tickets that you can buy in a roll at Walmart for about $4.00. We each decorated a jar with our names on it. Whenever one of us notices the other doing something with their problem area we have them put a ticket in their jar. I decided to put 5 tickets in for each brow or lash hair I pulled. At the end of the week, whoever has the least amount of tickets gets the other two
jar's worth. Each ticket represents 25 cents. This past week I won.
I earned $3.75 to use how I want. I am going to save it. A new week has begun. I did pull one brow yesterday so 5 tickets went into my jar. Bummer. However this system has helped all of us really well. I am very consciencious about not wanting tickets in my jar. I love putting a pretty sticker on my calendar page just for trich when I am pull-free. I hope this might be an idea for some of you.

I'm so glad your system is working and not just for you but everyone in the family. I think it was great that you found something to help you and included them to help them stop negitive behaviors.

The vaction sounds lovely. It's been forever since I've been to the beach.

Good Morning to everyone. I wanted to update my situation. My husband has been unemployed for almost 3 months due to downsizing of his company. South Carolina and especially our town is in a bad way for finding jobs especially technical ones like the computer field. Having him home and trying to figure out a new routine with homeschooling my daughter has been so stressful. He is so needy and emotional at times. This behavior is unpredictable so I haven't had much time of my own to write. I do try periodically to read through the questions that come on this site and find many very helpful. It has been quite a while since I have been pull-free. However last Friday my husband came home with a surprise gift of a product called RapidLash. I was going to use it as a reward with my ticket system of not pulling but he wanted me to get started on it sooner. I don't know if it really works, but the sacrifice he made of $50.00 with our budget right now has made me use my finger barriers 24/7. His gift was like giving me gold so I want to do everything possible to keep my hands away from my eye area. So far, pull free for 7 days. This has been the longest stretch I have had in a while. I am going to try and update, even with my failures because this is the best support group ever and I want to do more to encourage others. Please pray for our job situation. Finacially we are doing okay, just don't have health insurance and that can be scary for anything major. I am trusting God like never before for this area. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Thank you Shebepo. I am almost to day 8. It is wonderful to see results. Don't know if it's the product or just from not pulling. I'm not sure I will ever really know. I can't afford Latisse since we don't have insurance or husband with a job, but some have said this has helped. I really think using finger barriers 24/7 is the key. I just have to be mindful of doing this 100%.

It has been stressful in my house with Adam's unemployment. He is so emotional and I never know on which end of the spectrum he will be. Sometimes it will range at different time during the day.

It feels wonderful to see lashes again. I want them to thicken and grow longer so I hope this happens. I told my husband that there is no guarantee with pulling for 26 years. My bottom right lashes are doing great, my left bottom ones haven't caught up yet. Right now I find it exciting to watch the growth each day.

That's wonderful! Congratulations! Wow, 16 days is a great step forward! If you can take your mind off of them altogether and get yourself facinated with something else, that might be wise. I've found that being facinated with the growth can easily lead to frustration when the growth comes in weird or slowly and can lead to pulling. You're on a roll though, so whatever works, don't want to scare you in anyway. Great job and wishing you many pull free days ahead!! Just think how great you'll feel with all your lashes and brows!
