You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

How awesome is it that you got so many positive comments, and people saying that they do similar things.
:) xoxo
Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!
One of the things that I used to do when my hair was longer (and I hope this isn't triggering for you) was to throw my pulled hairs all over my carpet. Once I was done with my pulling spree, I would place my hand palm down on the carpet and swirl it in a circular motion until I had all of the pulled hairs balled up. The feeling of the hairs twisting and balling up between my hand and the carpet was amazing!
Anyway, you're not alone! We all have a ritual with the pulled hairs!
When I see my silver hairs on the carpet, it disgusts me, and I scurry to get rid of them. I have little interest in the hair, once it is out, but try to "fondle" it for awhile, to slow down the pulling momentum, if I don't have the presence of mind to stop completely. Often, I will break the hair in half before I am done with it.
I still haven't read the comments on the article, but that's good to know that some people responded saying they do the same thing.
Maybe soon I will start being such a coward and I will read how people actually responded. I think I'm procrastinating because I'm afraid I'll start crying or get really overwhelmed with emotion. LOL.
The other good news is I get $100 for that piece. Yay freelancing!
In other news, I'M ONE WEEK PULL FREE! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Congrats on the freelance money! And way to go on being pull-free for one week!
I don't know if you pull while you're writing, I definitely do, but I found this shampoo scalp massage brush (it has soft plastic bristles and fits in the palm of your hand) and whenever I get the urge, I massage my scalp with the brush. It has helped me be pull-free for over five weeks now. It's the first replacement that's actually worked for me. Just thought I'd share the idea!
Boo, congrats on 1-week pull free :)
