You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

I need to stop and celebrate. It may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but one day is huge to me. I have not gone one day without pulling in over a year. I can’t even remember when it’s been so long. Now I’m not going to get my hopes up and say this is it I will never pull again. That would be great and it is my goal, but if I slip up I will plug on. Nothing is going to keep me down this time. I can beat this, I am sick of feeling defeated by my own two hands. I am so thankful for this one day and it has made today that much easier. I have a reason not to pull, because it would ruin all my efforts yesterday. I can actually see little eyelashes and eyebrows (not that I looked in the mirror for long, as that is highly dangerous). Normally, they are picked completely clean, I can pull even the shortest hair that has just emerged. I have been taking biotin for several months and I think that has helped them to grow in quickly. I really think the iJK diet, nositol, NAC, and SAMe are finally starting to help. My urge is lower than it has been in forever. I have a one week goal right now. August 22 here I come!

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

I have 3 kids and had my tubes tied after my last baby. I recently found out I am pregnant. My husband is miserable and wants me to get an abortion. I don't believe in abortions and feel that this baby deserves a chance. Being pregnant is stressful for several reasons. The worst is that my hubby is blaming me, which is crazy because I got my tubes tied when he was too afraid to get snipped. I was preparing to go back to work in the spring, as my son turns 1 in Nov. I just got back on meds for my anxiety and bipolar disorder and needed to stop cold turkey. Between pregnancy hormones and withdrawal I'm a mess. Thanks for listening I just needed to vent.
I'm thinking of you.
Tough to stop meds cold turkey, but you have no choice. Aye - tough stuff to have this surprise in you without planning. However, trite as it may sound, the best things in life are often unplanned. Like Manda said, seek resources if you are even remotely considering the option of ending the pregnancy so that you are informed about the process and timing. You have the right to solid counseling and to not feel you are alone as you work through the complexities of the decision. That said, you mentioned that you are against abortion. If you are against abortion, I think you must listen to your inner voice.
Other advice is to keep this very private until you are at a point of being definite that you are keeping it (or not). Social pressure (from family and friends) may end up changing your decision course at a time when you are fragile and you may feel trapped based upon people's reactions and stuck to events tied to information that you share. This decision has to be yours. Forums like these are a great way to air ideas and feelings without having your immediate friend base in your business.
Sending you hugs.
After stopping all my meds and supplements back in September, I slowly went downhill with my mood and pulling. The pulling got really bad. I was back to feeling out of control watching my bald spots grow (as I pulled out almost all of my new hardly earned baby hairs). In January, I was desperate and started using NAC and inositol again, just at a lower dose.
February, was probably the worst month in terms of pulling. March started and I was determined to get things under control. The first week was still full of 7s, 8s, and 9s...but then I had one pull free day on the 11th.
It was so refreshing and gave me the strength to keep going. It's been 5 days now and I feel much better. My hair still looks the same, but I don't have that impending doom feeling that was haunting me. I know there will be ups and downs on the journey, but I am so thankful for this reprieve.
I have found that the ebb and flow of the tides of the moon seem to follow the same pattern as my ... so I work on the premise, one moment forward. Here's to success, in what works at the moment!
10 days is amazing!!! :) It's always going to be tough, but it's so worth it.
Unfortunately, the itching got the best of me two nights ago. My eyelashes were really bothering me. The agitation had been building for days. There was one that was especially bad. In a moment of weakness, I impulsively took off my band-aide and plucked out that pesky lash. It was felt great for a second until reality caught up with me and I realized I gave in, again. I stopped myself for a few minutes and went back to watching my movie.
But...I did not stop at one hair. In a growing frenzy, I quickly undid my 11 days of hard work and was left feeling a mix of relief and extreme disappointment. I went to bed vowing to start fresh in the morning. At least I had not touched my scalp so I had that to hold onto. I woke up with a better attitude, determined to plug away, reminding myself that each stretch of good days is progress. So I am now 13 days pull free on my scalp and 2 days pull free with my lashes.
You can do this!!!!!!!
