You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

I need to stop and celebrate. It may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but one day is huge to me. I have not gone one day without pulling in over a year. I can’t even remember when it’s been so long. Now I’m not going to get my hopes up and say this is it I will never pull again. That would be great and it is my goal, but if I slip up I will plug on. Nothing is going to keep me down this time. I can beat this, I am sick of feeling defeated by my own two hands. I am so thankful for this one day and it has made today that much easier. I have a reason not to pull, because it would ruin all my efforts yesterday. I can actually see little eyelashes and eyebrows (not that I looked in the mirror for long, as that is highly dangerous). Normally, they are picked completely clean, I can pull even the shortest hair that has just emerged. I have been taking biotin for several months and I think that has helped them to grow in quickly. I really think the iJK diet, nositol, NAC, and SAMe are finally starting to help. My urge is lower than it has been in forever. I have a one week goal right now. August 22 here I come!

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

And for carrying on so well after your slip. Hooray!
Go you for bouncing back from your slip up. For me it has been really helpful to try and be happy for my small victories over large periods of time, because (at least in my case) I always inevitably slip up. But I do have the faith that we can all manage this condition someday!!

And good job managing your slip :) We mustn't expect perfection. You're doing so well.
I'd suggest docosanol cream (abreva is brand name) for the eyebrows to help you through the painful, annoying, itching, spiking, stabbing sensations of the hair follicules coming through the layers of skin on the eyebrow area. Not good for eyelashes, because it can damage the eye itself. However, as mentioned, cool compresses are great to bring down the swelling (however little the swelling is where the follicule is coming through, it is painful due to the nerve endings setting a new path)of the eyelids.
It took me a long, long time to be able to hold the tweezers without wanting to tweeze. However, we have to have them available to pull wood splinters out, so hiding them is not a safe option for me. What I did, though, was spend the extra money to buy a nice tweezer just for me, and that one is the one I use, I hold, I touch, I feel, and I enjoy. The tweezers have their own container (I first used a snack baggie, now I have an old toothbrush holder) and just the pause it takes to open the container is enough for me to stop most of the time.
You can do this, and good job with your project! It's awesome to find what works to help steady the hands, the thoughts, the moment of truth!
You are not alone in this!
