I just finished reading all of the replies to the question of the day, and the part I found myself agreeing with everyone on and also noticed that most of us kept in mind is how important it is to keep plugging along and working out the best possible of all worlds regarding chronic pain medicine. Having the fullest life we can have. This has always been and will always be the most important goal for me. It has taken me fifteen years or more of hurting, seeing various physicians and trying all kinds of therapies all to get back my life. I think the worst experience I've had in my entire life was when I was laid up for six weeks with a pinched nerve in total agony. In between crying I would watch television or my family walking around and beg God to someday allow me to walk again without pain. Well thanks to a wonderfully talented surgeon that prayer was granted. It didn't take long after my surgery for me to begin exercises to bring strength to my back. I began pushing myself to do more and more each day. The more I did the stronger I got. Even though I still suffer with chronic pain and have to take meds daily for it. I too have worked to keep it all to a level that helps me function stay strong and keep my pain to the lowest possible level. I've never appreciated so much being able to do the normal daily things that I used to take for granted. I remember to thank God each day for what I consider to be a miracle. I do love this web page for the constant encouragement and education I get each day. My father passed away August 17, so I am also dealing with a lot of sadness and grief. These emotions caused some of my pain to flare up again. But I will persevere and I feel a good portion of my confidence in that area has to do with the support I get here. Thank you.
