it works ok. there are days where it don\'t even affect my pain level. can anybody recommend anything else?i\'m useing it in combo with soma

I take metadone.It works sometimes. I have to take soma methadone and a xanax to hep when it is really bad. I am over weight and that is alot of my problem.

works for me. it does seem to work very well alongside a mild muscle relaxant as well.

plus it makes you feel good.

not good for those prone to addiction, tho.

It helps me greatly, especially with the flexeril. When you add my kidney stones with it though nothing works.

I take it daily and it is the only thing that allows me to have a normal life. I know many people are against opiods for pain, but live 2 minutes in the shoes of a chronic pain victim and you'll be singing another song. I personally have an amazing dr. who understands the severity of my problem. He has said before that people wouldn't stay away from insulin for diabetes, so why should you stay away from pain med. if you need it.

when i had acute and chronic pain it was prescribed to use every 4 hours and before the pain got worse. if i did not use it i could not function. the only problem is it is addictive. it affected my personality.
i understand how someone must take it daily. i understand severe non stop pain. i had it. i am just grateful that the injections helped me or i would still be taking it.
i got epidrual shots and discontinued hydrocodene.

didn't work for me - just made me super dizzy, nauseous and a zombie.

i was in the same boat now i take percicoet and valume it seems to take the edge off

i also had many injections that did not work and recently surgery that made ma ten times worse and the pills i take only work sometimes i wish i could find some thing else to take away the pain

I would seek other alternatives. My mother was prescribed this drug and became EXTREMELY addicted, so much so that she wrote her own prescriptions after the doctor stopped prescribing and ended up in jail for 3 years because of prescription fraud. All because she hurt her back as a nurse while helping a patient. Don't let it ruin your life. It might take the back pain away, but it will bring pain to yourself in other ways as well as your family and friends.

Are there any back medications you can take that are non-narcotic? I hope so!

I cant do Hydrocodone, im allergic, it makes me itch and have the creey crawlies! ICK I take Darvocet and it helps calm the waters some.

i just want to say that the only reason people get addicted to medication is when they are using it when they dont need it. If you are truly in pain and you take it you dont get high....it just releives your pain.i take vicodin for breakthrough pain, meaning if my pain isnt to bad that i just can suck it up or try and lie down, then i take it. People wiht chronic pain cant expect to have no pian even wiht all the medicines it is still there and sometimes you just have to learn to live wiht it the best you can. Its hard but i just keep trying new things and i suck it up sometimes when i have to. I can go days without it if my ultram works sufficient enough. I have gotten off it when trying other medication with no problem. So i just dont see how people who are truly in pain get mentally addicted. I mean i can see having physical withdrawls. idk. Tramadol(ultram) is a non narcotic and i take it daily. Once it builds up in your system it is great for severly reducing pain that you have on a day to day basis. I mean if you are planning to go do running or exercising going to carnivals, youll probably need something to help you wiht the excess pain from over doing it. I suggest tramadol though...wiht vicodin for excess pain. I also have to take medicine at night to sleep becuase of pain. but all in all i think im doing alright, i still struggle everday to get up and do things. Like go ing to the mall is hard for me because of the being on my feet, but i still do it because i cant let the pain take away my life.
