Hello everyone. I have a 6 year old child that is on the spectrum. He also has anxiety and ADHD. He has ABA therapy for about 7 months and did so well with it that he was done with it all bc he met all his goals. He is also doing speech therapy and has been going to that since he was 2 years old. He is doing better now with his speech. He gets outside speech therapy once a week and also gets speech therapy everyday at school. He also has a learning disability. He has his good days and his bad days. He is on meds for ADHD and anxiety. The one he was on for anxiety was working for a while and then it stopped working. We went to the doctor and they left him on the same med just changed the amount that he was getting to see if that would help him out some. after a month he had to go back to the doctor for his ADHD med, he goes every two months, and i told her about the anxiety not getting any better. So she put him on another med for his anxiety and the new one seems to work right now. He hasnt had many melt downs since he started the new med. We take things one day at a time with him bc we never know if he will have a good day or a bad day. He is a smart kid, loves school and loves math. He loves puzzles and coloring with me and playing games. I try not to keep him in the house all the time bc of the fear of a melt down, I try to let him go out and do things everyone else does his age. I just want him to have a normal life as much as he can have and not let what he has slow him down. It has its moments that are hard but I just push through it and do the best that I can and help him the best that I can. It is all a day by day thing with all of this. His older brother understands some about what is going on but his younger sister is still to young to understand what is going on. But he is around people that love him and show him everyday. Its our life and we take it head on.
