Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
Does anybody really know the long-term side effects from any of these anti-arrythmic drugs being diagnosed? Just one more thing to worry about with my husband's condition... I don't mean to sound negative - some days are more difficult than others.
Has anyone heard of phytonutrient therapy? Surely, there must be some "natural" way to deal with these heart issues.
It seems that we are treating the symptoms and not the underlying deficiency...

yes, I am sure about the PT time. I think you would be better off to get closer to 20 seconds. I'm pondering the natto....my Dr wants me on xarelto but I don't really like the idea. Very smart of you to test your PT
Have you ever had your INR checked?
My understanding is that the INR blood test only makes sense when someone is taking the Coumadin. So, NO, I have not had blood test for INR. However, the blood test for PT/PTT can test for INR too. I guess since I don't take Coumadin, they do not test for it automatically. May be next time I ask for it any way.
By the way, thanks to "missed" for telling us that her clot time is NOT affected after she started to take vitamin K2 (MK7, K2 from fermented foods liker natto). I was wondering about that. Now, I know. I am also taking K2 (MK4 version, which is natural K2 from stuff like eggs, cheese) since I take calcium with vitamin D3.
keeppumping, I do not think there is anything that can be done at your doctor's office to show how thin your blood is. Also, please do not take both aspirin and the natto. They both do the same thing. In the case, your blood is too thin, have some K1 (not the k2), which is in greens to thicken your blood. You can have some deep green veggies. That will do it.
