Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
Tuesday is the big day. My FIRM ablation is set for late morning. I will post my experience later in the week! Please send good thoughts and prayers my way!!

Isn't that THE best feeling? Waking up after the operation and being ABOVE ground! So happy to hear everything went well...now comes the recovery part..best of luck to you...you will be a little better EVERY day! Anything good on Turner Classic Movies today???

Today is the eighth day after my ablation, and I feel great. The second night after the ablation, however, I had pretty bad chest pains, and discomfort in the groin on both sides where the cannulas were inserted. When I called the doc a 4 AM, he told me that some pain is normal and to take a low dose of Motrin. My pain subsided within an hour. I had a little chest pain the third day, but none since. The best news is that I have not had AFIb since the surgery! Thank you all for your kind support! It really helps get through the surgery and recovery!

I've been looking at this way of doing ablation for a while.
I'm only intermittently in fib and my symptoms aren't too bad but this sems like a good approach as he burns only a bit of the heart. I don't want to have a lot of ablation and then find out there's a better way.
How much burning did he do?
