I am pleased to report that my doctor says I can continue with no daily medication. I have been off Flecainide for almost 8 weeks now. My 30 day monitor reports many episodes of Atrial Tachycardia. From what I learned, Atrial Tachycardia can be an undesirable side effect of a significantly ablated left atrium, especially if linear ablation lines on atria walls are used in addition to PVI, which is the case with my ablations. While I am having numerous episodes of AT, some with pretty high rates (over 130 bpm), the episodes are not of lengthy duration and resolve within an hour of onset. Alot of these episodes were picked up by the monitor and I didnt even feel them. The results also did not indicate anymore AV block, which is great! The Flecainide was causing the AV block issues. My cardio prescribed Verapamil to take if needed (PIP) if my rate goes high and stays high for too long. He said as long as I am not feeling bad, am able to exercise, and not feeling faint or passing out, I can keep doing what I am doing. He said a 3rd ablation could likely help but he knows I do not want another ablation. It has been almost 16 months since my second ablation. It has been a long road but I feel like forward progress has been made and I feel very fortunate! Thanks for letting me share my latest news :)
