Although purple toes is on the list, I've yet to hear anyone who has had that.

Mark - Had my 2nd ablation 11/28/12 and I just now seem to be settling down. Scared to say anything cause I might "jinx" myself. I have had afib everyday since 10/15/12 and went into afib 30 minutes after my ablation. Just give it some time and I think you will find at the very least the symptoms and length of episode are not as severe if not gone. I wish you the best and please keep us updated.

The episodes are no where near as fast but are longer. My BPM while in the episode, whatever it is, is sometimes very low. I've only had one day since the procedure of being in NSR. Today I'm in it now and going on my 4th hour. Anyone else have episodes almost everyday while they healed?

Mark - I had 20-30 short episodes daily since my ablation in November. Made it 3 days this week with no episodes and then today I am a bit flappy but nothing major. I really do think this is normal and will calm down in the coming weeks. Call your doctor and see if a 50 mg dose of metoprolol would help you as it did me. Are you taking any other meds other than warfarin? Best of luck. Pat

I came out of a 16hr episode at 8:15 am, once again not sleeping. I called the doctors office in despair and while on phone at 12:00pm I started having another episode. Went to office and did EKG

and was told Atrial Tachycardia. When I went to the hospital I was in AFIB and Flutter. So, was told to go on Flecanide to see if it calms things down. Otherwise, no matter how much it is disrupting my life, there isn't much they can do until it heals over. The office staff makes it sound like it's no big deal. Just deal with it. ITS KINDA HARD WHEN YOU ARE SYMPTOMATIC AND CAN'T SLEEP! YOUR'RE NOT GOING TO DIE MARK, NO BIG DEAL, GO ABOUT YOUR LIFE. I CAN'T MY HEARTS TRIPPING OUT MOST OF THE TIME. I'M TOO TIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And now I just got a summons for jury duty. Great.

And jury duty, too? Oh, life is so unfair!
Your heart is mad at you right now. My EP says it can take 5-6 months before you know if the ablation worked.

Hoping the flecanide helps. I had a terrible A Fib episode 5 days after ablation. Ended up taking Multaq for next 4 months. Had my ablation 16 months ago and it's a success,--so far.

I really feel for you, Mark! The EP's office should be more compassionate. Jury duty on top of it! Yikes!!

Mark, I'm so sorry that you are having to go through all this!! My hubby is scheduled for an ablation on Monday (3/11) and now it truly has me concerned. It sounds like your experience has been horrible!

I know that it will get better, we all know it will. Just know that we are all sending hugs and prayers to you during this difficult time! Forget the jury duty - you cannot deal with that right now!

Hi Mark, we had that same experience the..."don't worry you'll be fine attitude". Things have calmed way down for my husband..he's 4 months post op get's occasional PAC's, but afib seems at bay. Hang in there it will get better. Don't lose hope or your faith. Lisa

Mark - please ask them about metroprolol as it worked for me with nothing else did. The flecanide did not work nor did sotalol. My ep had the same attitude. I even went to his office without an appointment and cried to his nurse and got the same response as you. Its a shame but probably reality. Have you tried sleeping propped up on several pillows and watching a movie or something you are interested in to relax you? You are not alone in your journey.

Can your EP at least give you a note to get you out of jury duty? You feel physically bad, so it's legit!

I feel awful for you! I definitely agree that the EP's office should be more sympathetic! I mean, come on! What is your HR during these episodes? If they get it low enough, you should be able to sleep through the episodes. The sotalol I was on before the ablation was a high dose that kept my HR low and I eventually just learned to sleep right through them. That makes going to work alot easier. What do you do for a living?
