I didn't like the pulmonologist! He was very clinically detached and just made me feel like a collection of symptoms! He said to walk 45 minutes a day but that's hard with the humidity the way it is and all of the allergens outside. I can't get up to the mall every day and there's no where else to really go to walk. I will do the best I can. He talked about allergy shots but I don't know if they're covered by insurance and if they would even work. Apparently, I can get them done here. He ordered pulmonary function testing at the hospital. I asked his secretary and there's a 3 to 6 month wait to get in for that testing! He said he would get a sputum test. He wanted me to record morning and evening peak flows. My spirometry tests at asthma education a few times a year were 10% above normal but were never done when I feel like this. He warned about prednisone side effects and said I need to get off of it. I am tapering down and he's the one who ordered the ER doctor to put me on a longer taper! He said he would see me in six months! So more waiting and no real help!
