give her better med. i think she will be ok. the doctor will be watch her real close and will make sure she be ok. let me know what the soctor say after the test.

Please watch her carefully! When I had it done, it put me into severe breathing difficulties for at least 3 months. They give you and inhaled irritant (by nebulizer) to see how long it takes for you to have an asthma attack. Then they give you albuterol (by nebulizer) to counteract the effects. This did not work well for me and I had to walk very slowly and sit several times before I got to my car. I should not have been allowed to drive. I am not an alarmist and do not want to frighten you; just be aware. Your daughter will probably come through it just fine.

This test nothing to worry about. The doctors know what they are doing and have the medical equiptment on hand to deal with things should her symptoms get bad.

They will get her to inhale a chemical to see if it gives her asthma symtoms and they might ask her to do a peak flow test before and after to see if there is a change in the result.

If she does have asthma symptoms during the test they will give her a reliever inhaler to improve them and if this doesnt improve her symptoms they will give her a nebuliser (a machine that turns liquid medicine into a fine mist for her to breathe in).

If you think that your daughter is not well after the test and the doctor is going to send her home, you should insist that he gives her more treatment.

It is an important test as it means the doctor can treat your daugter correctly and if her problem is not asthma he is not treating her with medicine that will not work.

When I had mine done at National Jewish, they did it slowly, and stopped the test when the computer sensed my lungs were beginning to trigger. I was totally scared of this test, but as I said the computer test registered a response before my body even felt it, so it was really a positive and worthwhile experience.
