These are very good charts to use but also check with your dr about what he would expect your of to be. Some peoples cary alot. Especially with detioration in lung disease etc. I know on these charts my predicted is 474 but my con has recaluculatedand my pf is now predicted at 350 but i tend to blow around 120 just now.

One day in an ER years ago, I did a 50. ROFL. They freaked out of course. I fell like some of those medical people over react.

Yeah dont worry i know that 120 is a problem. But dont worry im still in hosiptal. Today i blew 90 so the drs are on their way to sort someting out. If i was at home blowing that i would be on my way to hospital!!!

I have been known to blow nothing that would register. They tell it was the worst they'd ever witnessed. Asthma is a terror for sure! LOL

yip it usre is a terror. i know what you feel when you cant blow anything it is very scary.

Oh my goodness you two! I can't believe how low your "best" is! See, this is why I whine to my respiratory dr. about all of my meds. My "best" is 400. That's pretty dang good when I hear what you two are (or aren't) blowing! Goodness gracious.

My best is 370.....when I'm triggered or having an episode, it gets down to 250 within minutes. It can get scary.

Although I just realized I SHOULD be blowing a 418.....oops

I can get as high as 450 and it really doesn't seem to mean anything. I can then go into an attack or just a sudden distress and be on the nebulizer for 1 to 3 treatments.

My best is about 320 on a good day...according to my height (that table is in inches! Where's the metric?!?!) I should be blowing about 427.

Does your doc have any ideas of how to bring up your peak flow?

sometimes it is the technique of blowing that causes the peak flow to appear lower than it actually is.
but it is also likly to be some osrt of brinchospasm which is stopping the result. out of interest what is you peak flow 5 mind after you ahve had a short acting brinchdilator??

My peak flow used to be about 500 when i was first diagnosed and i managed to just about keep it about that with inhalers (my predicted peak flow is 470). The first really bad attack i had happened on a day when my peak flow was 490 in the morning. I had a bad allergic reaction to some chemicals and ended up in A&E blowing 190. Since them my peak flow has been at about half what it should be. Have tried steriods but they didnt do anything. Today my doctor gave me a steroid injection. Fingers crossed that this will work!
