Asthma Support Group
Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.
Feel better
I am so sorry you feel that way outside in spring!
Have you talked to your doc about changing meds at all? Advair stopped working for me and then went went to symbicort.
Just a thought. I know exactly how you feel :( I am constantly saying the same thing to my allergist. It stinks whenever you enjoy any time outside your body has to "pay for it."
Just call us "bubble people".
I hope it gets better!
Carol :)
I am only this bad from mid-March to mid-June when the trees are blooming. Started in the mid 1990's when landscaping for everyone really took off- you know, a native tree just won't do, has to be something exotic. I've been tested for all the common trees but none cause a reaction. I think they need to update the allergy test to better reflect modern exposure to non-native plants.
I just had my dr. up the Advair to 500/50. Will see how this works. I would like to be able to go out this weekend.
