Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.
Was woken up by a really scary asthma attack. Lots of wheezing and tight chest. I couldn't get any air in and felt like I was going to pass out. I had just been having a dream that I was having an anaphalactic reaction to almonds and didn't have an epi pen.(I have epi pens). My peak flow was 300 when it's usually 340 to 360. I took my ventolin and stopped wheezing. I took my symbicort, alvesco and singulair. I took my avamys nasal spray. My chest still feels tight and sore. I'm going to take my expectorant syrup. Is this common when stopping antihistamines before allergy skin testing? The day of my appointment I can't take ventolin or symbicort but can take avamys, singulair, expectorant syrup and alvesco. Very scary. I know I can't get allergy shots until my asthma is under control but how can I get it under control since it seems my allergies are what are making it so bad?

I am sorry that your asthma is bother you. I know how you feel. Maybe you need more pillow to sleep on. Sometime be high up on the pillow can help your breathing. Do not have the heat up too high. Sometime the warm air can bother your breathing. There slot if things that make you have a asthma attack. Like strong smell clean stuff, strong smell soap, strong smell lotion, strong smell clothing soap, dust, grass, smoking, candy, cold drink, and other thing. Do you have a treatment machine?
