Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.

Hi There! What are you struggling with specifically? Are you having frequent trips to the ER, or just not able to get the right medications? I know It took me almost a full year to learn how to control my asthma....I had to go through each of the seasons and learn what my environmental triggers were and how to manage them. I also had to learn what soaps, cleaners, and detergents I could use, and I had to figure out how to balance activity and asthma....It was a real process. One thing I can suggest is the daily tracking of your symptoms, use of rescue inhaler, etc...there are some great apps on smart phones for tracking asthma symptoms that make it really easy to figure out your triggers, see patterns, and keep all your asthma info stored in one easy place to show your Dr. when it's time for an appointment. Always keep the lines of communication open with your Dr as well...asthma can be difficult to manage, but your quality of life is important, and you and your Dr should work together to get optimal results. Feel free to post as many questions as you have....hoping things get better soon!

I've been dealing with asthma for a couple of years, and still don't really feel like I know what I'm doing! Do you have the name of a specific android app you like for helping with asthma management? Thanks!

The app I use is called Asthma Monitor. I find it very easy to use and it does a good job of tracking symptoms.

Thanks! I'll check it out!

I have asthma too. I will alway have it. There alot if things that can make you have a asthma attack. Like strong smell soap, strong smell lotion, string smell clothing soap, strong smell clean stuff, hot weather, cold food, spice food, med, cold weather, dust, grass, some candy, smoke, hot shower, hot bath and other things. I know there alot of things. Make sure you always have your inhale wuth you. If you play sport or exercise you will have to do less and take your time. If your asthma get too bad go in or call for help. I remember this one time i had a asthma attack that was so bad that i could not talk at all and i was so scared. My bf call for help. I was in the hospital for 4 days.

On Saturday, while I was at yard sales with my best friend, my lawn guy texted me that he did my lawn. This costs me $70 every two weeks or so. I don't have great grass so sometimes, he skips. Anyway, I paid him on CashApp when I got home. On Sunday morning, he texted me again, to say goodbye because he was moving. My little thinking cap went on and I thought about how I am healthier...
