High humidity worsening asthma

The high humidity they have had here really makes my asthma much worse. I sleep with the a/c on at night and wake up with a sore and very tight chest. I take my two puffs of symbicort, reactine, singulair, and avamys in the morning. Lately this hasn't been enough so I have to take a couple puffs of ventolin as well. On the bad days I go into the yellow zone where I double everything except the reactine( I am taking the max amount). I take ventolin every four hours as needed. Today, has been really bad. I try to avoid going outside for too long when the humidity is bad. I don't have a vehicle so I walk or take a bus. Is there anything else I can do? I wake up several times a night. I think it may be due to my asthma but I am able to go back to sleep. I try not to take ventolin unless necessary since it can make me more awake.

Has your Doc ever mention that a nebulizer might help you?

I use one with Duoneb.

I am sorry that your asthma is borther you. I know how you feel. I have to sleep with fan on. Maybe you need better med. try to stay cool and not get overheat.

My asthma educator told me a nebulizer wouldn't be good because I lose too much medication. I disagree because whenever they give me a breathing treatment at the hospital, it helps a lot. I hope that I don't have to go on prednisone! This afternoon my peak flow was down to 200 when it's usually well over 300 when I feel fine. I didn't take it after my taking my meds though. I live in an apartment with poor air quality and lots of mold and rotting wood. We're definitely going to move next year. I wonder if things will get better or this extra sensitivity with my allergies and asthma will continue?

I use my Nebulizer every 6 hours, depending on the cup you use determines how much is wasted, however, the Duoneb is really cheap it's generic.

Hope you get to feeling better, I certainly would discuss the Neb with your Doctor he may have a different opinion on using it.

I'm sorry to hear it! This summer, with so much rain here, the humidity has been really high, and that has definitely impacted me too.

Also, mold and dust are usually your enemies. While you don't move to a new place, you can use bleach to kill mold. Us google to find the best water/bleach ratio to kill mold.

I live in the deep South. Sometimes it's like putting a wet cloth over your mouth and nose trying to breath. And it's hot, wet air your breathing. I use advair and combivent. Still tough though some days.

I use a hydrogen peroxide mixture to get rid of some of the mold. I can't use bleach because there isn't proper ventilation so the fumes wouldn't dissipate. It's not enough though since all the wood in this place is rotting, some mold on the ceiling, leaky roof and the fan in the bathroom doesn't work well enough.

i contacted mold in 2006 from my office , caused scaring of the lungs
I feel this is what caused my IPF.
humid weather I cant stick my nose out the door . I use a breathing treatment at home , helps me .albuterol. I parked in front of my Dr office
walked inside had an asthma attack . so i am mostly encumbered

    On Saturday, while I was at yard sales with my best friend, my lawn guy texted me that he did my lawn.  This costs me $70 every two weeks or so.  I don't have great grass so sometimes, he skips.  Anyway, I paid him on CashApp when I got home.  On Sunday morning, he texted me again, to say goodbye because he was moving.  My little thinking cap went on and I thought about how I am healthier...
