Asthma Support Group
Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.
proventil is essentially the same med as proair but with a different name, so if one didnt cause you problems then the other shound either. I say shouldnt because sometimes they contain different ingredients such as preservatives and propellants. These meds are short acting relievers and can also cause palpitations.
I dont remember reading anything about palpitations on the singulair infomation sheet but i cant find it right now so i will try to check later.
It may be that your body will get used the the effect of the meds and the palpitations will stop with a bit of time, but if they dont you should go to see your doctor and ask about it.
Hope this helps
