Asthma Support Group
Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.
If your 2 1/2 yo is wheezing at all....that is not normal! Call your pedi (if you can), someone should be on call at the office taking phone calls for questions/concerns/emergencies.
Wheezing occurs in the lungs, therefore making airways tight or reduced. Does he have any albuterol inhalers or nebulizer at home?
I hope you find your answers and he feels better soon.
Hugs, Thelma
No, he doesn't have any inhalers or anything as he hasn't been dx with asthma or anything yet.
The pedi. office is closed and all the machine says to do is dial 911 for an emergency.
He seems pretty ok and I've been keeping a close eye on him. He still coughs but right now I don't think it would warrant a trip to the er. (If it happens again or his coughing keeps up we will go.)
